WHAT THE CATALOGUE OFFERS

The catalogue raisonné aims to provide as complete an overview as possible of Armando's Nul-ZERO works. The catalogue contains the iconic works with bolts, barbed wire and sheet metal, but will also include installations and works on paper.

The core of the catalogue will consist of a chronological index of works, with the addition of an exhibition history.

Introductory essays will offer an in-depth analysis of this part of Armando's oeuvre, with special attention to key works. The interpretation of these Nul-ZERO works within Armando's - predominantly painterly - oeuvre receives special attention.

The catalog raisonné will include:

• a chronological overview of Armando's Nul-ZERO works;
• an exhibition history of individual works;
• three essays on various aspects of Armando's art and artistry of the 1960s;
• a biography;
• a selected bibliography​.

Research for the catalog raisonné focuses primarily on:

• Armando's personal archive, part of RKD, Netherlands Institute for Art History, The Hague;
• archives of befriended Nul-ZERO artists Jan Henderikse, Henk Peeters and Jan Schoonhoven;
• museum archives;
• historical photo material;
  (historical) catalogues and literature​.
